The Villas Triumphant Return to the Stage

Mayfair Festival of the Arts, Allentown PA

Sunday, May 30th.

Lakeside Stage, 2:30pm-3:30pm.

It's been nearly three years since nationally acclaimed Allentown power-pop original music band The Villas rocked a local stage, delivering a blistering and emotional set opening for The Daddy Licks Band at Crocodile Rock in July 2007 (see Daddy Licks at Mayfair 2010 too!)

After dancer/choreographer daughter Sheena Villa was violently killed by a drunk driver on her 25th birthday in 2006, The Villas continued to play some select gigs before being de-railed by the civic duty responsibilities of ...

* Exposing and outmaneuvering a crooked and incompetent District Attorney and colluding "newspaper" to get Justice For Sheena

* Holding people accountable for their Gross Negligence

* Helping to shut down a jury-deemed negligent, dangerous, and twice PLCB-cited nuisance bar, J. P. O'Malley's

* Fighting (and beating) the rabid and vengeful attack dogs of the "powers that be" around here, including the current (for now) Vice President of Allentown City Council, Michael Donovan. BTW, W. Michael Donovan is also a member (for now) of the Allentown Arts Commission. Recently, at his blog, ethics professor Donovan encouraged a boycott of The Villas' engagement at Mayfair that included suggestions on how to disrupt The Villas performance. Well thanks for "supporting" local artists, Arts Commissioner Donovan, and "good luck" (wink wink) w/ the investigation of you that's currently underway by the Allentown Ethics Board, you earned it, and it was our pleasure bringing this action against you.

(Yawn) but so anyways, now that all that crap's been locked & loaded, The Villas are ready to rock again (!) and we hope you'll join us at Mayfair on Sunday, May 30th, 2:30pm to 3:30pm, Lakeside Stage. We'll be playing mostly Villas original songs, plus a coupla cool covers, and some brand new songs from our upcoming 3rd CD "Fun Park USA" that's being mixed & mastered by Multi-Platinum Grammy Award Winner Ed Stasium and we'll be joined on stage for the first time by Gianni Villa and a rumored Very Special Guest sitting in on drums w/ us on one song. Don't miss it!
