Any way you can provide captions for the pictures? I don't know who is who.

Looks like this meeting was better than the last! I need to develop an artistic skill so I can attend with a purpose one night, lol.

It was a happening of the hip Lehigh Valley, to an extreme degree. Especially when you add on the stroll we took to the opening of sneaker art at the Art and Soul Studio down Hamilton Street afterwards. The hipsters have found each other in Allentown. I'm glad I was invited to attend.

I'm surprised that Randall Forte, Lehigh Valley Arts Council was a no-show. I know he was invited to attend ...

Saturday was great. It seems there was more momentum at this meeting than the last. I'm really looking forward to the next one.

Alfonso's event Upward Bound Allentown would be a great place for some local artists to share their work while the group works on organizing a themed show. I don't know how I would be able to show video projects outdoors, but I'm willing to help otherwise!

The artist camaraderie was really neat and the Sweet N' Sour soup was unbelievable, highly recommended ...

We had some cheesy wontons that were dusted with sugar. More of a dessert than appetizer - but yummy. I may have to try Malaysian night June 21st...

Sarina,

Funny you mention June 21, first day of summer. We are thinking about Sat. June 21 for our next meeting at Greg's studio, where we can show slides of our work, or video in your case.
I'll be sending out group e-mail soon.
I've heard Malaysian night is really good.

Sorry I did not get to talk to you guys at Chen.

Anon,

Randall must have been too tired from the Arts Council's "Rockin' the Arts" fundraiser featuring corporate cover-bands, which was the night before our event.
Anyone attend this event?

Hello everyone, i want to say that the meetings with the public officials are important, i am happy they attended.

Now, i want to extend my studio as viewing place for the next meeting, and if possible have artist discuss their work

I will talk with Mrs. Dottie and give her details
Remember it is a studio, not as plush as House of Chen,

Gregory

"Arts" and "corporate cover bands" don't go together, it's an oxymoron, although I do understand the sucking up to the corporations thing. Spending the next evening with actual artists would have been a nice gesture ...

Mrs. Dottie,

It would be fun to see Greg's studio. Please keep us posted on the next gathering, as you've done so well!

Anon,

I realize that raising money is important for arts orgs, but what I don't like is the disconnect that occurs between the patrons and the artists, which really doesn't help give exposure to artists trying to make a living. I think having local original bands perform and give them an opportunity to sell cd's would have been a better idea. That's why it's important for artists to take lead and reach out to everyone. We just need to be more in the forefront and take CHARGE.
CHen ARts Group= CHARGE.
