Former Chief of Staff to Colin Powell, Republican Lawrence Wilkerson was on the Rachel Maddow Show Tuesday night and had some choice words of wisdom for our nation's creep of an ex-veep, Dick Cheney.
Don't miss Wilkerson's poetry on
Let's face it, Dick Cheney is pathetic. He should be in jail for war crimes and more people, including Republicans, should tell the liar Cheney (in Wilkerson's words) to "go home and shut up."
Wilkerson says that Cheney puts out "idiocy of the first order." We agree. Here's an example: Cheney said that he'd "rather have Rush Limbaugh in the GOP than Colin Powell." I see. So a drug addicted, racist, sexist, gas bag makes for a good leader? I guess those characteristics are fitting, considering the sorry state of the GOP.
Allowing Dick Cheney's sore loser buttinsky fear mongering enables it to fester and flower. Giving him a forum in the media is wrong and bad for America. On a local level, it's akin to the way people allow the hate mongering at The Morning Call Forum and the Nazi "enforcers" of our local blogosphere to fester and flower.
But I must admit, it is kinda fun watching the former U.S. veep self-destruct ...
same way it's been fun watching Morning Call veep Glenn Kranzley self-destruct (Kranzley gets the boot in 19 days).
Like Cheney, Kranzley puts out "idiocy of the first order."
Both veeps should go home and shut up.

Bravo. This is why you're #1.
Merci "City Official," and while I don't like to brag (it's not my nature), I do wanna point out to all of our new readers that LVS is not only the #1 Most Influential LIBERAL blog in Pennsylvania and the Lehigh Valley, LVS is also the #1 Most Influential Political Blog in The Lehigh Valley among ALL blogs, and we've been #1 in the Lehigh Valley for 18 of the last 23 weeks.
Cheyney's mouth (and ego) are bound to trigger full-scale investigations and hearings on torture and war crimes in the Bush administration. But shhh, Dick always knows best, let him speak.
Kranzley's goose was cooked when he stupidly hitched his wagon to the three troll blog creators and rewarded them and their accomplices w/ "Valley Blogosphere" at The Morning Call. Imagine this impending jury award. Oy.
If you submitted a "Letter to the Editor" at The Morning Call in the last 20 years and were shocked and dismayed and spitting nickels to see it published but bearing little or no resemblance to what you submitted ...
(that is, all the life, personality, attitude, meaning and "inconvenient facts" had been excised out of it w/ the sensitivity of a back alley abortionist) ...
here's the "man" who did that to you.
Good riddance, Glenno.
Anon 11:40, you are dead-on (not a threat) and voicing the frustrations of the tens of thousands of people who have had their thoughts, feelings, passions, and valued opinions minimized and desecrated by Glenn Kranzley.
I would also add that if you submitted an "LTE" that SHOULD have been published, but wasn't, and for no "good reason" other than the Gatekeeper's Smirking Whim, you're likely glad to see Glenn go, too.
"3.1," we agree totally w/ the 1st half of your comment. The 2nd half we cannot comment on, at this time.
"the way people allow the hate mongering at The Morning Call Forum"
The MC Forum is "opinions" and falls under Glenn Kranzley's rule. It is Glenn Kranzley who has been allowing the racism, bigotry, anti-semitism, misogyny, homophobia, hatred, and mostly latino bashing at HIS FORUM. Kranzley has flatly refused to do anything about it, in spite of many people asking him to make registration a requirement at the Forum. This would have eliminated or greatly reduced the vile "hate speech" at the Morning Call Forum. Kranzley refused to change anything. Racism must be "quaint" and "nostalgic" to Kranzley like it is for his friend Molovinsky.
"racism, bigotry, anti-semitism, misogyny, homophobia, hatred, and mostly latino bashing Kranzley refused to change anything."
If ya ain't Dutch ya ain't much!
Kranzley's no dope though.
Last year, he saw our local blogosphere dissenting against his "newspaper" and getting some traction ...
5/29/08
6/25/08
2/27/08
3/28/08
... so Kranzley created "Valley Blogosphere" at The Morning Call and all the dissenting local bloggers "went home and shut up" (about the newspaper). That is, they sold out.
w/ Valley Blogosphere, in one move, Kranzley silenced all local blogosphere dissent against The Morning Call and got his "newspaper" all the blog content they wanted, FREE, via Kranzley's local blogging consultant/liaison. Now, if local bloggers had anything to say about The Morning Call, it was of the deceitful loyal lapdog variety like this obvious do-do. What a difference a few scrapple breakfasts w/ Glenn Kranzley (and the lure of celebrity) can make!
Integrity? POOF.
Glenn don't let the Morning Call's door hit you on your dumb ass too hard on your way out.BTW, it's the same door Bill Villa is banned from entering through for the grieviuous offence of asking too many esxcellent questions that deserve to be answered that you made damn sure didn't get ansswered. F.U.
watching Morning Call veep Glenn Kranzley "self-destruct"
your too modest :) you two deserve much of the credit for the Tribune separating itself from Kranzley
Merci.
Our pleasure!
the three troll blog creators
(left to right) attorney (for now) Dull Dave Najarian, Bernie O'Hare, Mike "3%" Molovinsky
You score 100%!
This is why you're #1!
And suggesting Cheney "shut up", about time! Give yourselves 2 big thumbs up ...
Will do, thanks!
It is astonishing that The Morning Call provides a link at its website to O'Hare's deceit- and hate-filled "Troll Parade" blog via its "Valley Blogosphere" affiliation w/ LV Ramblings.
Haus abott it. We'll always believe this Kranzley-approved "side project" is what ultimately got Glenno shit-canned at the "newspaper."
Well said.
Readers, short story ...
here's an excellent example of the "mystique" and the sleight of hand magic of soon to be ex-Morning Call Editorial & Opinions VP, Glenn Kranzley.
April 9, 2008.
Democrat County Executive Don Cunningham is standing before the majority-Republican Lehigh County Commissioners presenting his case for a "Safe Streets Initiative" that would allocate $1 million for more police on the streets in Lehigh County and especially "hot spot" Allentown.
The initiative's "co-sponsor," "no nonsense" (wink wink) DA Jim Martin, is, incredibly, in NYC attending a Broadway show (blogger Bernie O'Hare has an email from Martin confessing to this, but not surprisingly, Morning Call/Martin apologist O'Hare opted to do nothing w/ this exclusive).
As our county's Chief Law Enforcement Officer (Martin) taps his toe to show tunes on Broadway, the 5 Republican Commissioners shoot down Democrat Cunningham's police proposal at the Commissioners meeting.
The next day, The Morning Call writes up the Commissioners Meeting in such a way that gives "newspaper" readers the distinct impression that DA Jim Martin was standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Don Cunningham the night before. He wasn't. Martin was "on Broadway."
I write a letter to the editor asking (politely) why the "newspaper" not only looked the other way on Martin's absence at a very important meeting on crime-fighting ... but also why they proactively covered Martin's dumb ass by leading readers to believe Martin was in attendance at the Cunningham/Commissioners meeting (which he wasn't).
Surprise surprise. The same editor who has refused me an Editorial Board meeting about my daughter Sheena (227 times to date) also refused to publish my letter to the editor.
Even Morning Call Lapdog Bernie O'Hare went on record at his blog saying that the "newspaper" should have published my letter-- that's how over-the-top an abuse of power this was on the part of Jim Martin and The Morning Call in PREVENTING THE TRUTH FROM GETTING OUT.
Glenn Kranzley being gone from The Morning Call is an excellent riddance that deserves to be answered w/ more firings (Dave Erdman and Mike Miorelli next).
Glenn Kranzley has been a scourge on our community for far too long.
Readers, pardonne moi my French when I say to Glenno: "Fuck You."
How's that humble pie scrapple, pappy Kranzley?
I coulda been a contender. I coulda been somebody, instead of a bum, which is what I am, let's face it.
God this is a terrific blog.
So nice of you to say ...
"Mighty Casey," sadly, you are right ...
That's great that you got Glenn Kranzley fired. "The last laugh."
Tee Hee.
And best of all, my excellent questions are being probed and answered (by the proper authority) stay tuned ...
