"All successful newspapers are ceaselessly querulous and bellicose. They never defend anyone or anything if they can help it; if the job is forced on them, they tackle it by denouncing someone or something else." -H. L. Mencken (1880 - 1956)
"Advertisements... contain the only truths to be relied on in a newspaper." -Thomas Jefferson (1743 - 1826), Letter to Nathaniel Macon, January 12, 1819

Pandering to the right wing is the MC's business survival model ... ditto the rest of the US media ... which is why "Team GOP" cleaned Dems clocks nationwide. That and cuz Dems are "wusses," as Gov. Rendell told Rachel last night. As if we didn't already know that.
President Obama's record of achievement is stunning, especially fighting against the grain of the party of "no." He has accomplished 70% of what he promised as a candidate. But the Dems have done a dismally lousy job of taking credit for it, while the Fox/Rush-dominated media has transformed all of Obama's statesman accomplishments into impeachable offenses. And now they're "taking their country back" from the darkie. Only in America.
This president has delivered more sweeping, progressive change in 20 months than the previous two Democratic administrations did in 12 years. "When you look at what will last in history," historian Doris Kearns Goodwin tells Rolling Stone, "Obama has more notches on the presidential belt."
In fact, when the history of this administration is written, Obama's opening act is likely to be judged as more impressive than any president's — Democrat or Republican — since the mid-1960s. "If you're looking at the first-two-year legislative record," says Ornstein, "you really don't have any rivals since Lyndon Johnson — and that includes Ronald Reagan."
Gotta love your view that the US media is right wing. It is. For honesty, you handle the truth beter than anyone I've ever read religiously (and yes, obsessively/compulsively too, just saying!)
I am compulsive. Watching you is like watching a graceful, defiant bullfighter vanquishing any and all who cross you (bad idea) and your path...(Martin, Corbett, Kranzley, blogger after blogger)...happens in slow motion, but keeps happening and you can't take your eyes off it. It's horrible and fascinating all at the same time.
I do also get a kick out of the fact that they can't handle your dissent at all. Watching you mock (and pulverize) them is thoroughly enjoyable.
"Pandering to the right wing is the MC's business survival model"
Absolutely. Look at their hard copy front page today which I glimpsed while at the bank. Of all the race outcomes they could have led with...which one do they pick? "Toomey Triumphs." b/c Toomey is the farthest right of any of the candidate races. Wouldn't the Corbett victory as Governor have been more news logical?
I'm looking forward to the media maybe eventually noticing the amazing story that happened in California yesterday, namely Jerry Brown beating Meg Whitman and her campaign bag of $140 million dollars to become California's oldest governor, 28 years after he finished his second term as California's youngest governor. How cool is this?
Oh sure, so Mike "Giggles" Schlossberg wants to rule on the Mayor's budget but he flouts the law and ignores a vehicular responsibility the REST OF US must comply w/ . He must think he's a "special exemption" or something. Happy to see the APD nail his ass and not let him go like they do w/ road-weaving and hedge (hiccup) side-swiping Jim Martin.
Those fines for shamefully reckless "driver" Jeanette Eichenwald seem laughably low.
Only $151.00 (?) for careening through a SCHOOL ZONE 21 MPH OVER, just a year after being clocked (and again, wrist-slapped, only $152?) doing 72 in a 55?

The Case for Obama
[Excerpt]
It pays to stand up for something. Progressives need to do a better job at controlling the narrative and standing up for their values and beliefs.
In the meantime, go ahead and "take your country back" and then shove it up your ass cuz it's going to shit anyway for the next 2 years.
Edmund Burke said, " All it takes for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing"
Touché!!!!

I couldn't agree w/ you more. Merci again.
I second that ... ;D

Yeah, I believe so.
But if you wanna rile up the right,
and piss off the left (for the enjoyment of the riled up right) ...
"Toomey Triumphs"
Edmund Burke said, " All it takes for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing."
People who do nothing against evil aren't good people.
Good read on yesterday's election (sent to me by Mrs. Dottie) by Bob Cesca ...

You were missed at City Council last night.
I thought it was tonight.
Villas, FYI, City Council "man" Mike Schlossberg is a scofflaw, hope he wasn't cell phoning too.
Villas, here's more recklessness and "special exemptions" from our City Council, Julio Guridy ignoring a red light. Thankfully he didn't kill anybody.
Wow ...
Oh, you ain't seen nuthin' yet, check out the arrest record of Allentown City Council woman (for now) Jeanette Eichenwald ...
* Speeding in SCHOOL ZONE, 21 MPH OVER!
* Speeding PRIOR
* Blowing Past STOP Sign
Yo Morning Call "newspaper," don't forget to credit your source on this exclusive exposé, it's LEHIGH VALLEY SOMEBODY, L-E-H-I-G-H ...

Well said.
Jeanette must have connections ...
Villas, here's Allentown City Council "man" (for now) Peter G. Schweyer also dangerously demonstrating his arrogant belief that he's more important than the rest of us ...
Here's some "W" Mike Donovan criminal dirt, and don't forget, "Not Guilty" does not mean innocent.
(almost forgot)
"Never Charged" doesn't mean innocent neither.
