Once popular Lehigh County Executive Don Cunning-Ham (D) limped, staggered, and crawled his way to an empty and shallow “victory” on Tuesday night, narrowly “beating” previously unknown and positively unqualified Republican/Evangelical challenger Scott Ott by a razor thin margin of 800 votes out of more than 40,000 votes cast.
Most political pundits had been anticipating a Cunning-Ham reelection landslide in the neighborhood of 80%.
Instead, Cunning-Ham got only 51% of the vote, and, just barely.
We trust that this stunning, near-miss upset was a LONG OVERDUE WAKE UP CALL to Don, and to all local politicos, regarding the toxic and potentially terminal political danger of granting "media" access to evil sadist hate blogger, Bernie O’Hare, even if you’re a seemingly invincible office holder like Don Cunning-Ham and Jim Martin used to be.
Regrettably (in hindsight), Team Cunning-Ham had made disbarred and disgraced ex-lawyer O’Hare their main "go to" "guy" for Don Cunning-Ham press release dissemination. Bad idea.
Even more foolishly, Oh Donny Boy had done numerous syrupy too cute interviews into O’Hare’s flip-cam for broadcast at O’Hare’s cronyism-on-parade spin blog, Lehigh Valley Ramblings.
Apparently, the voting public was not amused. Oopsie.
ATTENTION ALL LOCAL POLITICOS:
LEARN FROM DON CUNNING-HAM’s HUGE MISTAKE, unless you have more political capital to blow than Don used to have.
Affiliating w/ Bernie O’Hare is a political kiss of death.

In 1986, O'Hare's own lawyer told the PA Supreme Court that O'Hare had a "serious emotional problem."
Obviously, O'Hare has never been rehabilitated.

Charles Dertinger's greatest moment on Northampton County Council was when he passed a law making it illegal for Bernie O'Hare to take nude sponge baths in the restrooms at the Northampton County courthouse.
That's a visual we don't need but thanks for the info and for commenting.
I know it is a visual NO ONE needs, but it happened. He would ride his bike to the courthouse, and actually in his full glory give him self sponge baths will standing at the sink. A county employee actually caught him doing this.
I vaguely remember reading about this at O'Hare's "also-ran ranked" NeoCon spin blog but he was "laughing it off" much like how he tried to minimize his sadistic emotional torturing of George Usry and Lucille White as merely a problem w/ "booze" (wink wink). As you may know, O'Hare can easily dupe his knuckle-dragger readers but he couldn't dupe the PA Supreme Court or Lehigh Valley Somebody.

O'Hare actually admitted it, but enough of that for now. I loved this post because it exactly the kind of post that O'Hare writes ! He is actually taking credit for Charles Dertinger's loss. Charles problem was Democratic turnout, not the hate and lies O'Hater has spewed at him for years !

O'Hare can dish it out but he can't take it. He's pusillanimous just like his Abuse of Process co-conspirator, "attorney" (for now) David Najarian.
He's got non-blogger co-conspirators to like Rong Angle. Angle is going to try and sit on Northmapton County Council and Bangor Area School Board, eventhough, the Department of Education has said that the Bangor School Board's actions could be invalidated.
Par for the crony crooked course around here. On a related subject, in Lehigh County, there's a District "Judge" who is sitting on a township supervisor appointed board in direct violation of PA law for magistrates. Sadly, he's a "dead duck" (not a threat, it's a vernacular expression) in the cross-hairs of our Justice Mission.
