Allentown Moving Forward (well, most of us)

Recently, Allentown residents received a really cool newsletter in the mail from Mayor Pawlowski. It's called Allentown Alive: a quarterly update of what is happening in our city. At first glance, we thought it was maybe reelection campaign propaganda (not that there's anything wrong w/ that) but it's not. This newsletter is loaded with information about the Mayor's existing plans and programs, and boy, is our Mayor Pawlowski ambitious and hard-working or what? Wow!

A quick and ongoing way to get the latest scoop on Mayor Pawlowski is to follow Ed on Twitter. It's really interesting to see all that Mayor Ed is doing.

But sadly, our "newspaper" rarely reports on Mayor Pawlowski's positive efforts anymore. Lately, because they are so desperate for readers, and to pander to our area's lunatic fringe NeoCons, The Morning Call has lapdog cub reporter Jarrett Renshaw "aping" the loony Pawlowski bashing he reads at the local NeoCon blogs. The "newspaper" (which supports Pawlowski) knows its two-faced charade won't make even the slightest dent in Mayor Pawlowski's cruise to reelection in November, but shameless whores that they are, they'll gladly swap an "Anti-Pawlowski" (wink wink) perception for a few more readers. Very clever, these Morning Callers, albeit totally bankrupt in the integrity and credibility departments. We doubt cubby Jarrett Renshaw is in on the joke. Ditto the MC subscription-renewing NeoCons.

On a related subject, calling all disgruntled NeoCons!
Don't miss KvetchFest, organized by South Whitehall Township's whining expert on all things Allentown, Mike "3%" Molovinsky who "has a plan" (wink wink) to SAVE OUR SITY!

Um ............ (I'm speechless) see you at KvetchFest!

I think "anon 1:26" (wink wink) is really Allentown City Council "man" Michael Donovan who has announced his support of KvetchFest at "Mike's Memory Lane."

Anonymous said...

How uncivil.

Angie Villa said...

I think it's really sad that Mr. Donovan, who is a city councilor, and Allentown arts commissioner, would champion the cause of a local blahger who continually publishes lies and smears about community volunteers, fellow arts commissioners, and the Allentown Chen Arts Group. It's time to SPEAK OUT against the nasty know it alls like MM who think they can keep provoking and dishing out crap without any consequences.

"Mike "3%" Molovinsky"

Readers, 3% of the vote is what Allentown Mayoral Hopeful (and South Whitehall Township resident) Mike Molovinsky scored versus Mayor Pawlowski in the 2005 Allentown Mayoral election.

Pawlowski won w/ 59% of the vote.

59% (Pawlowski) to 3% (Molovinsky).

Mike's been kvetching ever since ...

I couldn't agree more. But don't forget Donovan is newly "Democrat" (wink wink). He's a lifelong Republican which explains a lot. But what is totally inexplicable is why Donovan "goose steps" to everything he's told to do by "local" bloggers from Nazareth (O'Hare) and South Whitehall (Molivinskli). Grow a spine, Mr. Donovan, please.

Angie Villa said...

So Mr. Buttinsky immediately voices his opposition to the mayor's new community group Friends of the Park, instead of joining the cause by bringing his ideas to the group. Seems like Mikey doesn't play well with others. And he even insinuates that FOP volunteers are not REAL.
How would he know? And how shameful of him to criticize anyone who volunteers to help Allentown. It's sad that such a divisive person gets any attention at all from elected officials.

Very Casual Observer said...

Mike Molivinskli obviously has a deeply-seeded personal vindetta against Ed Pawlowski ever since Pawlowski TROUNCED Molivinskli for Mayor in 2005. Molivinskli spends most days rolling around on the floor foaming at the mouth, he's that filled w/ hate for Pawlowski. It is a very unhealthy obsession and I for one hope that Mike (eventually) seeks out the help he needs to move forward w/ his life.

Jo Jo said...

I too have noticed how the Morning Call is playing the local neocons like violins lately by faking an "against Pawlowski" position. Suckers. On a related subject, congratulations to LVS for getting Glenn Kranzley fired.

"Mr. Buttinsky ... sad that such a divisive person gets any attention at all from elected officials."

Well, Mikey doesn't get much attention from elected pols. Just from Michael Donovan (who obviously needs psychiatric help) and centenarian former city controller Lou Hershman who feels sorry for him. Oh and the ghost of Emma Tropiano probably likes him. But sadly :) that's it.

Kudos for exposing the Morning Call and Kransley (no surprises there) but what about O'Hare? He deserves a good shot too. And thanks to Mrs. Dotie for exposing Molovinskli "continually publishes lies and smears". True, true, all true, like an arrow you are with the truth. But what about Bill V's excellent questions that deserve to be answered? Guess there's such a thing as "too much truth" as far as that "newspaper" is concerned. Can't have that! Fingers point at others' shortfalls accurately. You are plainly on target. Congratulations. Too bad too many have drunk O'Hare's kool-aid!
Congrats on being #1 again I LOVE LVS too! There aren;t enough gold stars in the universe for you guys. KCD

AM Radio is trying desperately to stay relevant (and stay in business) by whoring out to the aging right-wingnuts (ever check into how little it costs to advertise on AM radio these days? Last year my employer aired 30-second ads that cost less than $5 each). So it appears the MC has jumped into the same sinking boat. I think we'll see an ever increasing tilt to the right, but this is a short-term option ...

Bill Villa said...

Merci, "KCD," very thoughtful of you to cover so many bases in your comment.

Anon 7:53, as you say, the "tilt to the right" will prove to be fruitless since 80% of the population is either down the middle or to the left. The phrase "scraping the bottom of the barrel" comes to mind.

"City Official," what IS up w/ Donovan?

Jo Jo, thanks.

"Very Casual," I'm not a psychiatrist but I know MM needs grief counseling (and anger management, and a few high school english grammar courses), relative to the trauma he suffered in losing the 2005 Allentown Mayoral election, 59-3.

KCD said...

O'Hare, He deserves a good shot

Angie Villa said...

Readers, when I first started blogging, I reached out to the neocons, inviting them to participate in Chen Arts, even though they were highly critical.
Civility and respect is a two way street, and when I got nothing but kvetching in response to my niceties, I decided to move on.

Bill Villa said...

KCD (funny), I agree w/ you but only in a figurative (not a threat) sense (wink wink).

And Mrs. D is right about our experience w/ the local NeoCons. They don't want solutions or progress or inclusion or (God forbid) bipartisanship. They just wanna kvetch. Endlessly. And to them civility and respect is a one-way street; they expect it, but they won't give it. Very much like how they can dish it out but they can't take it. They're all pusillanimous that way, in our experience.

Anonymous said...

Q. What's is w/ Allentown City Council person Michael Donovan extending so much "civility" (and time) to chronic kvetchers from South Whitehall (Molivinskli) and Nazareth (O'Hare)? I've seen it theorized on the blogs that it's Stockholm Syndrome. Your thoughts?

Bill Villa said...

Anon 8:58, you've made Mrs. Dottie and me laugh loudly.

But we think you're right, it probably is Stockholm Syndrome.

Never met you Villas but have read a great deal about you and your nationally acclaimed music. I cried when I read about you winning that settlement in the tragic death of your beloved daughter Sheena. It is lousy that the Morning Call hid from the public the fact that the jury found O'Malley's negligent in Sheena's death. I imagine this is what that case was all about for you, that is, holding people accountable for their negligence in Sheena's death. Cannot imagine how much sorrow you feel, which has been giddily exacerbated by the likes of O'Hare, Najarian, Molovinsky, Donovan, etc., etc. Wishng you peace and more stunning victories.

Bill Villa said...

Merci, anon 10:46, you really get it, as do each of the 4 commenters before you, in their own unique ways, thanks all ...

Kudos for getting Glenn Kranzley Fired

Bill Villa said...

Thanks. We perceived ridding our community of Glenn Kranzley as our civic duty here at LVS. And yes, it is a very satisfying victory for us and one for which we are just beaming (inside, humbly) w/ pride of accomplishment. Best of all though, now we can focus more exclusively on our Big Priority Project.

i recevied the "Allentown Alive" publication in the mail recently too and was equally impressed as you were.

Anonymous said...

Who's worse? MC cubby Jarrett Renshaw or MC cubby Kevin Amerman?

Bill Villa said...

Well ... they're both adorable. And I would tend to lean towards Amerman being worse, based on first-hand knowledge of his incompetence. But don't forget, all these bargain-priced new cubbies at "the call" merely fetch the bulk of the story for Mike Miorelli and Dave Erdman to slice and dice. For example, although Amerman was "present" in court for maybe 2% of the proceedings involving the death of my daughter Sheena (magically appearing, via obvious insider tip-off, for the jury's verdict), I'm sure it was Mike Miorelli or Dave Erdman who removed from Amerman's draft the part about the jury found (MC advertiser?) O'Malley's bar negligent in the death of my daughter, Sheena. Amerman was standing right there when the jury spoke, so he had to have heard that the jury found O'Malley's bar negligent in the death of Sheena Villa. In fact, that was the first thing the jury announced. It was also probably the first thing Mike Miorelli and Dave Erdman edited out of cubby Kevin Amerman's notes. Nice doggie.

WORTH REPEATING DEPARTMENT

The Morning Call "newspaper" DIS-INFORMS the public, and by this I mean that their coverage isn't of the hapless "mistake" variety and thus MIS-INFORMATION, but is instead a PURPOSEFUL DISTRACTION from the truth, and is thus DIS-INFORMATION.

The purpose of TMC's DIS-INFORMATION is to protect info-access political pals (like DA Jim Martin) and select advertisers of The Morning Call, as needed.

"OT" Giggle said...

WORTH REPEATING DEPARTMENT

Kudos, again, for getting Glenn Kranzley Fired.

Bill Villa said...

Merci.

Somebody outen the lights in Glenno's office.

Mike Miorelli and Dave Erdman: youse are next. Remember where you heard it first.

Angie Villa said...

Low turnout for voting. I think everyone was at Bag Day at the JCC.

I agree about The MC and DISINFORMATION. This is very bad for Allentown. They should just change their name to LV Callings, and become a blahg.

Angie Villa said...

Molovinsky can dish it out but he can't take it.

Bill Villa said...

Molovinsky is pusillanimous.

Angie Villa said...

Wonder if Molovinsky spoke out against Lights in the Parkway during the Heydt administration?

Bill Villa said...

Mrs. D, that's an excellent question that deserves to be answered at "KvetchFest." And what about our parks' crumbling WPA stonework structures that have Mike's moist panties all in a knot over all of a sudden? It's not like these WPA structures just started to deteriorate when Ed Pawlowski beat "MM" for Mayor of Allentown 59% to 3% in 2005. These structures have been falling apart for decades. Where was that opportunistic sociopath Molovinsky on this "issue" (wink wink) then?

Barry Stumpfff said...

In all dew respect, if the local Dutchmen who built those WPA structures did a better "chob," maybe these crumbling structures would be in better condition than they are after chust 76 years once. Stonemason structures built in Europe have endured for centuries. Molivinskli: don't act so dumb.

The City Official said...

It's not an act. Mike's dumbness is genuine.
