But the last straw may have been the hate speech and libel forum Jeff Pooley enabled for Mayor Pawlowski's most delusional detractor, outgoing VP of Allentown City Council (and Cedar Crest College "ethics" professor), W. Michael Donovan.
Although Allentown City Council as a whole has been a continuous source of head-shaking embarrassment for the squeaky clean Pawlowski administration, the in-depth and shocking exposé of Jeff Pooley's pal W. "This is my last blog post, mainly because of unending online and email harassment from Bill Villa. It’s really not worth going through the particulars: Anyone who has spent more than a few minutes in the LV blogosphere knows the backstory, and I’d rather not call any more attention to him. More of the same, perhaps worse than usual, today.
His charges are, of course, complete and utter nonsense. Still, I have less than no interest in engaging in a tit-for-tat online exchange. It’s not my temperament, and I’d rather focus my energies elsewhere—on my family, my teaching, and my scholarly work. And on improving my Center City neighborhood, despite the city’s self-inflicted injuries.
Reading those sentences over, I realize they sound bitter. I’m not—not at all.

Look at the Team Donovan/Casey who's who of those bidding Pooley fond farewell, it's all the same cretins who've been cyber harassing the Villa family for 3 years. Pooley continuously pledged his allegiance to these sadists. Sadly, he picked the losing team. Oh well.
Jeff Pooley deserves far, far worse than whatever "discomfort" he's feeling over this post, his wife's termination, and his forced retirement from blogging.
