Morning Call "forgets" Mike D'Amore threatened T-Mobile

Article in today's "newspaper" ...

T-Mobile's global battle gets local

Curiously (?) no mention of Mike D'Amore.

Thankfully, an astute Forum commenter catches it ...

alacarbv at 8:55 AM October 4, 2010

"Reporter" Scott Kraus helpfully and purposefully conceals the fact that one-half of the "threatening" duo included Allentown City Council President (for now) Mike D'Amore.
Locally, only 69 News has been telling the truth about this ...

Sadly, A-Town Council President (for now) Mike D'Amore also attempts (in vain) to intimidate private citizens ...

See now D'Amore will owe the MC one, you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours....

I'm surprised Scott Kraus has drank the kool-aid.

"forgets" on purpose

I can't believe any college would allow Damore to "teach" (wink wink) political science.

Isn't Damore sort of over-qualifed teaching at a rinky dink community college w/ a PhD? He must have resume skeleton problems...notice how he slams the other colleges he "taught" at....I'd put the A-Town Ethics Board on him....

Here's another over-qualified and underachieving Nutty Professor (who must have personal/emotional problems) checking in Pavlovian-style.

So will there be an ethics committee to oversee the ethics committee that never finds any violation of ethics?

If there is never a violation of ethics what is the point of an ethics committee?

Maybe there just are not any ethics left in Allentown to review any more.

No ethics why an ethics board?

Is that an ethical supposition or question?

Bill Villa said...

All excellent questions.

As far as I know, the Allentown "Ethics" Board's very first "investigation" (after being re-constituted by "W" Mike Donovan to use against Mayor Pawlowski after years of dormancy) was our dead-on complaint against "W" Mike Donovan.

And I say "dead-on" w/ utmost ongoing confidence because the way in which this case and its laughable outcome was whitewashed by The Morning Call "newspaper" and its affiliated local lapdog blogosphere loudly proved our complaint's main allegation:

171.04 USE OF POSITION OR PRESTIGE FOR PERSONAL BENEFIT

No official or employee shall use, nor allow others to use, the authority, title or prestige of public office for the attainment of private financial, social or political benefits in any manner that is inconsistent with public interests.

The Ethics Board's "number two" investigation was the frivolous "Permit-Gate" complaint filed by Republicans "W" Mike Donovan and Bob Romancheck.

I agree w/ the Ethics Board's dismissal of Permit-Gate.

And while I can understand the Ethics Board employing a harsh literal interpretation of the City's Ethics Code so as to find their pally Donovan "not guilty" of anything (Note: after dismissing our complaint, The Board noted a need for updating the City's Ethics Codes to acknowledge the realities of today's internet communications), I believe the Ethics Board made a major mistake in not reprimanding Donovan for his outrageous behavior against my family and me. Yes, I know, they were not required to issue any statement of "judgement."

But they should have.

Additionally, The Morning Call "newspaper" should not have lied about our complaint and concealed the whole story truth from the public-- which the "newspaper" clearly did.

Had both of these "systems" performed properly, and ethically, I wouldn't be in the position of having to expose the truth, and apply consequences, at City Council twice a month. And City Council wouldn't have to endure me.

But both systems failed my family-- and the "newspaper" system failed on purpose.

Allentown is just really fucked up when it comes to admitting wrong. Look at how differently the T-Mobile thing was handled in Northampton County vs Allentown. NorCo apologized to T-Mobile and took Steve Barron out to the woodshed for a well-deserved spanking.

In Allentown ... Mike D'Amore got a total "pass" ... no apologies from anybody ... including D'Amore hisself ... and the Morning Call "newspaper" now makes like Steve Barron was all alone at T-Mobile strong-arming and threatening.

Allentown richly deserves the punch in the jaw I'm giving it twice a month at City Council, and I'm gonna keep doing it until I get bored w/ it.

You know the truth to this statement, Bill. But they never let the truth get out, do they? This is why you're so relevant....
