Michael Donovan (pictured) started taunting and provoking Allentown arts community volunteers and grieving parents Angie and Bill Villa in October 2009, when, just like at the Troll Parade blog, Professor Donovan began inviting, encouraging, and publishing dozens of "anonymous" and/or self-penned blog comments like this one:

Not getting the reaction he desired, and probably thinking he could succeed at the provocation/harassment-conviction game that was lost so resoundingly by both Bernie O'Hare in Northampton County, and attorney (for now) Dave Najarian (Lynn Township Supervisor) in Lehigh County, in March 2010 Donovan upped the ante at his blog by publishing numerous taunting and provocative comments like this one ...

Then came the onslaught from an obviously unhinged Donovan.

In a series of a half-dozen blog posts reported to Allentown City Council, Donovan unloaded his passive/aggressive frustration on us w/ both barrels, resorting to sadistic cruelty, criminal harassment, and sanctioned libel. Here's a representative sampling of the hundreds of provoking comments Donovan published at his blog, adding, in a signed comment, that he was "letting all comments run" because they were "fun to read."

In a pleasant phone conversation last night w/ Allentown City Council President Mike D'Amore, D'Amore repeatedly stated he was sympathetic to our situation-- D'Amore acknowledged that Donovan's blog behavior is "rude," and D'Amore admitted that Angie and I are totally justified in applying whatever appropriate punitive measures we decide on.

D'Amore also claimed he's helpless and powerless in this situation, as City Council's rules of censure don't apply to a city council person's personal behavior, hence no censure of council person Tony Phillips for his much publicized cyber sex scandal of last election season, according to D'Amore.

Additionally, and sadly, Donovan flatly refuses to apologize ... as he has informed D'Amore ... and as he has stated in a heels dug-in comment at his blog ...
