THE DIRTY FACTS ON DA JIM MARTIN

Q. Which local Good Ol' Boys support Jim Martin?

LVS will reveal more names several times daily, check back to see more names exposed, maybe yours.

LVS exposé prods DA Jim Martin into filing charges against DUI baby killer Randy Teets

69 News: Driver charged in head-on crash that killed baby

Sept 2 Commentary, Victory Lap: Readers, as our August 12 post revealed, it routinely takes DA Jim Martin upwards of three to six months to a YEAR to file criminal charges against drunk drivers who kill people in Lehigh County. But thanks to LVS's exposé spotlighting of colluding DA Jim Martin and The Morning "newspaper," we successfully forced DA Jim Martin into working over a weekend and filing charges against alleged DUI killer Randy Teets faster than DA Jim Martin has ever done it before (according to our records) ... 34 days. As noted in our Aug 12 post, NorCo DA John Morganelli routinely gets it done in less than a week.

Nevertheless, it was rewarding to see DA Jim Martin admitting on camera to 69 News that it was Randy Teets's drunk driving impairment that killed Katrina Gunkel, watch segment .. same suit again Jim?

Now if only DA Jim Martin could remember to be consistent.

Here's what we mean ...

In April 2008, popular Parkland wrestling coach John Toggas was killed by drunk driver Jennifer Gehringer.

Even though DUI killer Jennifer Gehringer clocked in at nearly twice the legal blood alcohol content limit, DA Jim Martin decreed that beautiful and shapely Jennifer Gehringer's impairment and slowed reflexes couldn't be proven as a factor (?) in John Toggas's death.

Jennifer Gehringer's "sentence" for killing John Toggas while driving drunk? 2 days.

As a "prosecutor," DA Jim Martin is careless, erratic, inconsistent, crooked, wildly dishonest, and (hiccup) incompetent-- and in off-election years, he's a drunk driver's best friend who couldn't care less about the families of DUI homicide victims.

And all of DA Jim Martin's flagrant fuck-ups and sadistic screw jobs are downplayed and frequently flat-out concealed by The Morning Call "newspaper."

When will DA Jim Martin file charges against alleged DUI baby killer Randy Teets?

August 22, 2011 Disturbing text update, and still no charges filed ...

WFMZ-TV Channel 69 News first reported this tragic story honestly, accurately, and immediately, on July 18 ...

[Editor's Note: 69 News has since blocked internet access to their original, Morning Call-scooping July 18th story. They've swapped out their original story's video and inserted a different video with a different story emphasis, i.e., blaming the parents, instead of Randy Teets, for Katrina Gunkel's death (just like The Morning Call is doing) and they've re-dated their original Morning Call-scooping July 18 text coverage as "July 20" at their website. LVS has been attempting to get some clarification on all this retroactive alignment from 69 News but the dots are embarrassingly easy to connect. Obviously, 69 News blinked and backed down from their original story, either because of direct pressure from the DA Jim Martin/Tom Corbett/Morning Call/Mal Gross McGinley power cabal, or, on their own, because of a skittish fear of an inevitable retribution pay back of some kind from petty and paranoid bully DA Jim Martin and his crony protectors at The Morning Call. This is disappointing. We always thought 69 News had potential as a dissent contender and a champion for the inconvenient facts, and the truth, like LVS. We hope 69 News regrets their LVS-exposed lapse of good judgement and journalistic integrity and gets back on a more honest and courageous course, soon. We also hope 69 News director Brad Rinehart is having a nice vacation.]

Even more curious (but par for the course), in its first two coverages of this story, The Morning Call "newspaper" concealed from its readers any mention of alcohol being a factor in the death of 1-year-old baby girl Katrina Gunkel.

The Morning Call: July 18, 2011

The Morning Call: July 19, 2011

Only when this blog called them out in a post here at LVS did The Morning Call finally tell its readers, 3 days later, what they and their longtime crony pal DA Jim Martin already knew ...

Over in neighboring Northampton County recently, concerned citizens were rightfully clamoring for DA John Morganelli's head because it took him 7 days after a holiday weekend to file much more complex double homicide charges against a former cop and alleged double DUI killer John P. Heaney III.

Here in Lehigh County, as of the date of this post, DA Jim Martin has had more than three times that amount of time already ... 25 days ... but still no charges against Randy Teets have been forthcoming.

So how long will it take incumbent, crooked, and incompetent DA Jim Martin to do his job here and file criminal charges against Randy Teets?

For some recent historical perspective, and these cases reveal DA Jim Martin's typical (hiccup) stumblebum slug's pace, it took DA Jim Martin ...

* 2 months-plus to file charges against DUI killer Joshua Share

* 5 months to file charges against DUI killer Joseph Hammer

* 6 months-plus to file charges against DUI killer Miqueas Garcia

* A YEAR to file charges against DUI killer Gregory Williams

So DA Martin, we're watching, and waiting.

Readers: if you think Lehigh County deserves better service, more work ethic, and more justice from its district attorney, on November 8, VOTE ED KOREN FOR DISTRICT ATTORNEY.

And while we're watching and waiting for DA Jim Martin to file criminal charges against Randy Teets, let's all make a campaign contribution to Democratic DA candidate Ed Koren. He'll need campaign money to beat The Morning Call/Gross McGinley political machine.

Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin goes easy on yet another drunk driver/killer

Readers, LVS can barely keep up (scroll down, see previous posts) w/ the back-up of back-ordered DUI homicide cases that snoozy and boozy DA Jim Martin is cleaning out from the bottom of his desk (because it's an election year) while everyone is on vacation and won't notice, Martin hopes.

This "latest" DUI from 2010 involves a death, and serious injury, and is again skillfully spun and downplayed online by DA Jim Martin Morning Call "newspaper" "reporter" and adorable lapdog Kevin Amerman.

Have a read ...

Here are The Inconvenient Facts in a nutshell ...

* By law, Pennsylvania judges like Robert L. Steinberg must sentence drunk drivers who kill people to a state mandatory minimum prison sentence of 3 years in a Pennsylvania State Penitentiary for the charge of Vehicular Homicide While DUI.

* The homicidal drunk driver in this case, Joseph M. Hammer, was sentenced to serve around 18+ months in Lehigh County Jail.

Why?

* Because "no nonsense" (?) DA Jim Martin generously (hiccup) plea-bargained away the major charge of Vehicular Homicide While DUI ... and most of the other charges.

Why?

* Because, as The Morning Call helpfully (and skillfully) tells us, the wishes of the victim's family were that they did not want to see their son's killer go to jail.

* This is curiously inconsistent w/ my family's experience. And our wishes. We wanted an appropriately stiff state prison sentence for our daughter Sheena's DUI killer, Robert LaBarre. One that was commensurate with the crime Robert LaBarre committed against Sheena Villa. But DA Jim Martin told me that he did not represent Sheena's family, he represented Lehigh County, and that our wishes were not a factor in the criminal charges he chose to file, and to not file.

DUI Killer Free Since November '09 Death, Thanks to Snoozy, Boozy DA Jim Martin

Readers, LVS can barely keep up (see previous post) w/ the back-ordered felony DUI cases that DA Jim Martin is cleaning out from the bottom of his desk (because it's an election year) while everyone is on vacation and won't notice, Martin hopes.

This "latest" DUI (from 2009) involves a death, and serious injury, and is again dutifully 'hidden in plain sight' online by DA Jim Martin Morning Call "newspaper" "reporter" lapdog Kevin Amerman after 5:00 pm on a Friday-- and apparently this story was cubby Amerman's last detail before his vacation starts tomorrow, according to his voicemail.

Have a read ...

Here are The Inconvenient Facts in a nutshell ...

* On November 21, 2009, driving drunk, and speeding, Miqueas Rafael Garcia slammed into the car of Carolina Fernandez, killing her front seat passenger, her mother, Lyda Estrada-Davilla, and seriously injuring another passenger.

* It took DA Jim Martin more than 6 months to file criminal charges against Garcia on May 21, 2010.

* Garcia has been free on unsecured ($0.00) bail and likely free to drive ever since the fatal crash and injury mayhem he caused on November 21, 2009.

* Today, after nearly 2 years, DA Jim Martin helpfully and (hiccup) inexplicably dropped the major charge of felony homicide by vehicle against Garcia.

* By the time Judge Kelly Banach finally sentences Miqueas Rafael Garcia on September 9th for the misdemeanors DA Jim Martin has left on the table, Garcia will have evaded all accountability for killing Lyda Estrada-Davilla for nearly 2 years.

* Not coincidentally, that's how long "no nonsense" (?) DA Jim Martin has callously kept the already victimized and grief-stricken family of Lyda Estrada-Davilla waiting for "misdemeanor justice." Nearly 2 years. Disgraceful.
