[Editor's Note: 69 News has since blocked internet access to their original, Morning Call-scooping July 18th story. They've swapped out their original story's video and inserted a different video with a different story emphasis, i.e., blaming the parents, instead of Randy Teets, for Katrina Gunkel's death (just like The Morning Call is doing) and they've re-dated their original Morning Call-scooping July 18 text coverage as "July 20" at their website. LVS has been attempting to get some clarification on all this retroactive alignment from 69 News but the dots are embarrassingly easy to connect. Obviously, 69 News blinked and backed down from their original story, either because of direct pressure from the DA Jim Martin/Tom Corbett/Morning Call/Mal Gross McGinley power cabal, or, on their own, because of a skittish fear of an inevitable retribution pay back of some kind from petty and paranoid bully DA Jim Martin and his crony protectors at The Morning Call. This is disappointing. We always thought 69 News had potential as a dissent contender and a champion for the inconvenient facts, and the truth, like LVS. Even more curious (but par for the course), in its first two coverages of this story, The Morning Call "newspaper" concealed from its readers any mention of alcohol being a factor in the death of 1-year-old baby girl Katrina Gunkel.

Over in neighboring Northampton County recently, concerned citizens were rightfully clamoring for DA John Morganelli's head because it took him 7 days after a holiday weekend to file much more complex double homicide charges against a former cop and alleged double DUI killer John P. Heaney III.
Here in Lehigh County, as of the date of this post, DA Jim Martin has had more than three times that amount of time already ... 25 days ... but still no charges against Randy Teets have been forthcoming.
So how long will it take incumbent, crooked, and incompetent DA Jim Martin to do his job here and file criminal charges against Randy Teets?

Sadly, the total unhinging of Chris Casey has been playing out publicly for some time. Two recent episodes stand out...
1. After being selected as a Lehigh Valley Patch blogger by duped Patch editor Tom DiMartini, Casey (at Patch) launched into a vile and libel-laden litany of false accusations against the Villa family, closing w/ (all caps), "I AM PROUD TO BE AT THE TOP OF YOU'RE (sic) PUBLIC ENEMIES LIST!!!!" Fearing slam-dunk libel litigation, Patch quickly deleted Casey's foaming at the mouth comment.
2. In a recent post at his now-poofed blog, Casey made the admission (or fabrication) that he gets paid by politicians to conduct espionage and sabotage against their political opponents. This no doubt sent shock waves throughout the LV blogosphere in that it confirmed what many already suspected-- that local bloggers are being paid to do the agenda dirty work of others.

DA Jim Martin's senior vote pandering press conference today was held in the law library in Martin's gated and locked office complex. After buzzing me in, the receptionist, apparently recognizing me on sight, immediately paged DA Jim Martin's "Executive Aide" (wink wink) Debbie Garlicki who came out into the lobby, and after I shook her hand and said, "Hi Debbie, I'm Bill Villa from the Lehigh Valley Somebody blog," told me the press conference was for media only and that "you'll have to leave Mr. Villa." I said, "But I am media, I'm a citizen journalist, and what about the 2 people you just let in as 'observers' ... how about I attend as an 'observer' too?" With that, Debbie exited aggressively and 3 detectives came out from behind Martin's locked bunker and surrounded me and said I had to leave right now and asked me how many of them would I like to have accompany me down to the first floor and out of the building ... I said, "Well all of us going down together would be nice, and may I get a picture of you three escorting me out of the courthouse ... and is there some statute or law you can show me that says the general public isn't allowed to attend press conferences by DA Martin ... they said they didn't have to show me anything and with that Detective Jerry Crainyn ushered me out into the hall and onto the elevator. I asked if I could take his picture and he said no. I asked if there was any statute or law that prohibited me from taking his picture but by then we were at the first floor and he bid me adieu and I left the building.
That big bully DA Jim Martin sure is scared shitless of me.
Hysterical that Dr. Zahorchak's unexpected dismissal as ASD Superintendent knocked D.A. Jim Martin's predictable (and transparent) senior vote-pandering out of position 1 in the local news already. Only in Allentown.
